The grading value ladder

A PSA 10 typically sells for 5–10× more than raw. PSA 9 is 2–3× raw. PSA 8 is 1.5–2×. Below PSA 7, grading typically destroys value — ungraded sells better. For high-value cards ($200+ raw), the PSA 10 premium is extraordinary.

Is it worth grading?

Do the math: if a card is worth $50 raw and you expect PSA 9 (3× = $150), profit after $25 submission is $75. But wait times can be 6–12 months, and grade predictions are uncertain. Only grade cards where the upside significantly exceeds grading cost and risk.
