Bandwidth

The maximum rate of data transfer across a network connection, measured in Mbps or Gbps.

Bandwidth is the pipe size — how much data can flow per second. Common speeds: 25 Mbps (basic streaming), 100 Mbps (standard broadband), 300 Mbps (fast home internet), 1 Gbps (gigabit fiber). Download vs upload speeds often differ — most connections are asymmetric with faster downloads. Note: bandwidth is the maximum capacity; actual throughput is often lower due to network congestion, distance from router, and device limitations.
