Bull Market
A sustained rise of 20% or more in stock prices, typically lasting years.
Bull markets are the long periods of rising stock prices between bear markets. The average bull market lasts 4-5 years and produces gains of 150-200%. The longest bull market in US history ran from March 2009 to February 2020 — nearly 11 years with a 400%+ gain in the S&P 500. Bull markets are where the vast majority of long-term investment returns are generated.
