Cloud Computing

Delivering computing services over the internet instead of using local hardware.

Cloud computing means using someone else's servers instead of buying your own. The three main models: IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service — rent virtual servers, like AWS EC2), PaaS (Platform as a Service — deploy code without managing servers, like Heroku), and SaaS (Software as a Service — use applications in a browser, like Google Docs). Cloud computing has shifted technology costs from large upfront capital expenditures to smaller ongoing operational expenses.
