When to Book
Domestic flights: Book 3-6 weeks before departure. International: 2-4 months ahead. Holiday travel: As early as possible — 3-4 months for Thanksgiving/Christmas. Google Flights and Hopper track price trends and predict whether prices will rise or fall. Set price alerts and book when the tool says prices are low for your route.
Google Flights "Price Guarantee" feature shows a badge on flights where Google will refund the difference if the price drops after you book. This effectively eliminates the risk of booking too early. Look for flights with this badge when available on your route.
