Indian Standard

Riser: 15-18 cm। Tread: 25-30 cm। Width: 90+ cm। Steps = floor height / riser। 300 cm / 17 = ~18 steps। NBC (National Building Code): minimum width 75 cm residential।

Materials

RCC structure + granite/marble treads: Indian standard। Wooden: rare (termites!)। SS railing: ₹400-800/ft।

⚡ CalcWolf Insight

Inconsistent riser heights are the leading cause of stair falls. Building code limits variation to 3/8 inch because even tiny inconsistencies trip people — your foot expects every step to be identical.
