How Discounts Are Calculated

Sale price = Original Price × (1 - Discount/100). A 25% discount on $79.99 = $59.99. When stacking discounts, they multiply — a 25% + 10% stack is NOT 35% off, it is $79.99 × 0.75 × 0.90 = $53.99 (32.5% total). The order does not matter mathematically.

Comparing Deals

BOGO 50% off = 25% off per item. Buy 2 get 1 free = 33% off per item. $10 off $50 = 20% at exactly $50, less as you spend more. Always calculate per-item savings to compare deals fairly.

Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate 25% off?
Multiply the price by 0.75. For $80: $80 × 0.75 = $60. Or calculate savings first: $80 × 0.25 = $20, then $80 - $20 = $60.
Do stacked discounts add up?
No — they multiply. 20% off + 10% off is NOT 30% off. It is 28% total (1 - 0.80 × 0.90 = 0.28). Stacked discounts always total less than the sum of individual percentages.
