GPA (Grade Point Average)

A standardized measure of academic achievement on a 4.0 scale.

Standard scale: A=4.0, B=3.0, C=2.0, D=1.0, F=0.0. Weighted GPA adds points for honors (+0.5) and AP/IB (+1.0) courses, allowing GPAs above 4.0. Cumulative GPA averages all courses across all semesters. Semester GPA covers only the current term. Most colleges consider cumulative GPA for admissions, with 3.0+ being competitive for many schools.
