Calculate the number of 4×8 plywood sheets for subflooring, sheathing, and projects.

Format standard : 122 × 244 cm (2,97 m²). Pour couvrir 30 m² : 30 ÷ 2,97 = 10,1 panneaux + 10% chutes = 11 panneaux. Épaisseurs courantes : 5, 9, 12, 15, 18 mm. Sous-plancher : 18 mm. Coffrage : 12-15 mm. L'OSB est 30-40% moins cher mais moins résistant à l'humidité.
Épaisseur par Usage
Fond de meuble : 5 mm. Cloison légère : 9 mm. Étagère : 15-18 mm. Sous-plancher : 18-22 mm. Coffrage : 12-18 mm. Le contreplaqué marin résiste à l'humidité mais coûte 2-3× le prix du standard.
When buying plywood, inspect each sheet at the store. Plywood can warp, delaminate, or have voids in lower grades. Stand the sheet on edge — it should be straight with no twist. Check edges for delamination (separation of layers). This 30-second inspection prevents project headaches.
