How Weighted Grades Work

Most courses weight different assignments differently — a final exam worth 35% has more impact than homework worth 10%. The formula: (Grade₁ × Weight₁ + Grade₂ × Weight₂ + ...) ÷ Total Weight. This calculator also works backwards to tell you exactly what final exam score you need to achieve your target grade.

What Score Do I Need on My Final?

Enter your current grades, their weights, the final exam weight, and your target grade. The calculator computes the minimum final exam score needed. If the result is over 100%, your target is not achievable — adjust your goal or talk to your professor about extra credit options.
