Calorie Deficit

Consuming fewer calories than your body burns, forcing it to use stored energy (fat) for fuel.

One pound of body fat stores approximately 3,500 calories. A daily deficit of 500 calories produces roughly 1 pound of fat loss per week. Your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) is the number of calories your body burns — eating below this number creates the deficit. The most sustainable approach is a 500-calorie deficit: noticeable results without the hunger and fatigue of extreme restriction.
