TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure)

The total number of calories your body burns in a day, including all activity.

TDEE has three components: Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR, 60-70% — calories burned at complete rest), the thermic effect of food (10% — energy used digesting meals), and activity (20-30% — exercise and daily movement). The Mifflin-St Jeor equation estimates BMR from age, weight, height, and gender, then multiplies by an activity factor to approximate TDEE.
