La Méthode

L'armée américaine utilise les mesures de tour de cou, taille et hanches (femmes). Hommes : cou et abdomen (taille). Femmes : cou, taille et hanches. La formule utilise les logarithmes de ces mesures avec la taille. Limites par âge : hommes 17-20 : max 20%. 21-27 : 22%. 28-39 : 24%. 40+ : 26%.

Standards

Ces standards militaires sont significativement plus stricts que les guides civils. Les mesures sont prises en position de repos, mètre-ruban ferme mais sans comprimer la peau. Trois mesures de chaque point, moyennées.
